US vetoed countless UN security council resolutions

Of the 248 vetoes recorded by the five Security Council members since the inception of the UN, the US has cast 73 ? the vast majority of them related
to the Middle East.
Here's a look at UN resolutions on Palestine that have been killed by the US (US/Israel), always the sole veto:
- March 27, 2001: US is the lone veto on a resolution backing a UN observer force to protect Palestinian civilians.
- March 21, 1997: US casts the lone veto to block a resolution demanding Israel's immediate cessation of construction at an east Jerusalem settlement.
- March 7, 1997: US casts the lone veto on a resolution calling on Israel to refrain from east Jerusalem settlement activity.
- May 17, 1995: US casts the lone veto to block a resolution that declared invalid Israel's expropriation of Arab-owned land in east Jerusalem.
- May 31, 1990: US casts the lone veto to block a Security Council fact-finding mission to report on abuses of Palestinians in land Israel captured in war.
-November 7, 1989: US casts the lone veto blocking a resolution to condemn Israeli human rights violations and to establish a UN monitoring team in the occupied territories including Jerusalem.
-June 8, 1989: US casts the lone veto blocking a resolution demanding that Israel desist from deporting Palestinian civilians from the occupied territory and calling for the immediate return of those already deported.
-February 17, 1989: US casts the lone veto on a resolution calling on Israel to abide by the Fourth Geneva Convention and condemning Israeli human
rights violations.
-April 14, 1988: US casts the lone veto on a resolution urging Israel to abide by the Fourth Geneva Convention and condemning Israeli human rights violations.
-January 29, 1998: US casts the lone veto on a resolution calling on Israel to accept the de jure applicability of the Convention to the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967,including Jerusalem, and to fully comply with its obligations under that convention;
-January 29, 1986: US casts the lone veto on a resolution deploring Israel for continuing to violate previous Security Council resolutions and declaring as illegal ALL actions taken by Israel to change the physical character, demographic composition, and institutional structure or status of the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967, including Jerusalem.
-September 13, 1985: US casts the lone veto on a resolution calling on Israel to abide by the Geneva Convention and to to immediately stop all repressive measures including curfews, administrative detentions and forceful deportation.
-August 1, 1983: US casts the lone veto on a resolution declaring Israeli settlements ILLEGAL.
-August 6, 1982: US casts the lone veto on a resolution that would have called on all UN member states to refrain from supplying Israel with any
weapons and from providing it with any military aid UNTIL the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon.
-June 25, 1982: US casts the lone veto on a resolution that would have stationed UN military observers in Beirut and called on the Secretary-General to consider a UN force to take up position beside the Lebanese force.
-June 8, 1982: US casts the lone veto on a resolution condeming Israeli noncompliance with UN resolutions and demanding that it withdraw from Lebanese territory.
-April 2, 1982: US casts the lone veto on a resolution demanding that Israel comply with the Geneva Convention and the principles of international law governing military occupation.
-April 1, 1982: US casts the lone veto on a resolution calling on Israel to comply with the Geneva Convention and to cease all measures applied in the
West Bank, including Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and the Syrian Golan Heights, which contravene the provisions of that Convention.
-April 28, 1980: US casts the lone veto on a resolution affirming that Israel should withdraw from all the Arab territories occupied since June 1967, including Jerusalem.
-June 29, 1976: US casts the lone veto on a resolution affirming the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right of return and the right of national independence and sovereignty in Palestine, in accordance with the UN Charter.
-March 24, 1976: US casts the lone veto on a resolution deploring Israel for actions and policies designed to change the legal status of the
Jerusalem, calling on Israel to rescind all such measures already taken.
-January 23, 1976: US casts the lone veto on a resolution affirming the Palestinian right of return, and calling on Israel to withdraw to its
pre-1967 borders.
-July 24, 1973: US casts the lone veto on a resolution deploring Israel's ongoing territorial annexation practices.
